The advantage of having an eclectic, varied business background is that sometimes an organization needs every skill under the marketing umbrella. In addition to running the traditional marketing functions of advertising, public relations & communications, graphic design, website, market research and events at DBG, I was also head of publications, guest services, gift shop, facility rentals, group sales, and the national conference. We resuscitated previously flat attendance numbers by +53%, increased our concert series revenue by +81%, repositioned the Garden's image and became more relevant to the community.
